After 6 years of fun and adventures, Playland will close and make way for the Shirley Chisholm Village Educator Housing project (SCV). In partnership with SFUSD and the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, MidPen Housing is developing SCV. The project will provide affordable housing to low- and moderate-income households and will prioritize SFUSD educators and district employees. SCV is expected to start construction in August 2022 and complete construction in Summer 2024.

We have built friendships and memories under the pavilion, playing basketball, skating, at ping-pong tournaments, during art classes, or picking up veggies from the garden.

To celebrate 6 years of successful programs at Playland, the Planning Department will host a special event on Saturday, May 7th from 11am – 1pm at Playland.
